Pair of copper and cloisonné enamel vases transformed into pitchers, China, 19th century Of yuchunping design, they are enameled on a turquoise-blue ground with polychrome foliage and flowers. A band of ruyi heads adorns the neck, with a frieze of lotus petals at the base. Each vase is fitted with a handle enamelled with plum blossoms and bamboo leaves, transforming it into a pourer. The different decoration of the handles and the body, and the absence of a spout, suggest that the handles may have been assembled at a later date. H. 32 cm (handles possibly attached, small enamel chips)
