In sheets, filled cover, publisher's slipcase. First edition illustrated with 32 original lithographs by Jean COCTEAU (1889-1963), printed by Fernand Mourlot. The lithographs are divided into two series. The first, accompanying the text, comprises 18 compositions, including one in black on the cover, 15 full-page and two double-page. The latter 17 are mostly in color, except for one in red and two in bistre. The second series, which follows the text, comprises 14 lithographs under the title Florilège. The first and last are in color, 6 are in black and 6 in bistre. Limited edition of 200 copies, plus a few copies reserved for the publisher's collaborators. Contributor's copy, unnumbered, printed on Rives vellum, with a double suite of the first 17 lithographs, on Rives vellum and Arches vellum. A very well preserved copy.
